The Helicopter
ThedaStar’s primary airfact is a 2008 Airbus H135 P2+ light twin-engine helicopter.
One of the quietest in its class, this aircraft features excellent maneuverability and technology that ensures a smooth flight with minimal vibration. The helicopter boasts the latest safety related technology and can carry a pilot, two medical personnel, one to two patients plus one observer or passenger.
The helicopter is owned and operated by PHI Air Medical.
The Crew
Our team of experienced flight nurses, paramedics, pilots, mechanics and communications specialists work together to provide fast, reliable and quality care during patient transfers. ThedaStar is staffed and readied for immediate response 24/7.
Response & Flight Times
Safety is always paramount when making the determination to accept and respond to requests for service. ThedaStar’s goal is to be responding to requests within 10 minutes of receiving a request. This response time varies depending upon weather conditions and other factors. Flight times vary depending on distance and weather but the helicopter can usually cover 25 miles in about 10 minutes.
