Forward Thinking Foundations

From Berlin to Shawano, Appleton to Waupaca – and all the communities in between – we share one vision, in support of the work and mission of ThedaCare.
Community Funds assist in countless ways. Areas of outreach include keeping medical care accessible to rural neighbors, educating young drivers about trauma prevention, lending a financial hand to senior citizens or families in need, or investing in lifesaving medical equipment, facilities and services.
Our Family of Foundations includes hospice care and Peabody Heritage – an independent and assisted living community located in Appleton.
Whatever you’d like to achieve or support, talk to us. The ThedaCare Family of Foundations team will assist you. Our foundations include:
You’ll meet changing local needs when you give to the ThedaCare Foundation-Appleton. They may range from medical equipment or facility enhancements to community education and patient amenities.Examples of our programs and services include improved cancer screening and care. ThedaCare Foundation-Neenah and ThedaCare Foundation-Appleton work together as needed to improve cancer care and prevention. Their contributions include purchasing 3-D breast tomosynthesis machines for breast center locations in Neenah and Appleton. With 3-D mammography, doctors see clearer, more complete images. This can show areas of concern and reduce false positives.
Your gift to this fund keeps valued short-term and long-term goals within reach. Our ThedaCare Foundation-Berlin team addresses needs ranging from modern technology and facilities to education and outreach. It supports a wide array of programs and services such as better access, comfort and safety for patients.
For example, donors like you provided a new ergonomic wheelchair for the ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin Emergency Department. In addition, Juliette Manor benefactors funded the ThedaCare Foundation-Berlin purchase of handicap-accessible outdoor furniture. Gifts like these improve both healthcare and quality of life for nearby patients and families.
When you want to lend a hand, but you don’t know how, we’ll bridge the gap. Through the ThedaCare Hospice Foundation you can help people of every age. Their care may involve an untreatable brain injury, late-stage cancer, age-related illness or other conditions.

Healing Comforts for Cancer Patients
When stress is high, a relaxing massage is a welcome break. The Friends of Hospice group within ThedaCare Foundation-Shawano donated $25,000 to provide massage therapy for cancer patients. ThedaCare Hospice Foundation also funded over 1,500 massages for more than 225 patients throughout the ThedaCare service area.
Hospice Suite Renovation
Capital campaigns build better care. One of many examples is a dedicated hospice suite at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca. Improvements like these create a home-like environment for hospice patients and their families.
A Great Place to Call Home
You can open the door to a welcoming home and customized care for someone who needs it. When senior citizens or others faced with challenging health conditions need a hand, we’re there. The Peabody Heritage Foundation funds skilled nursing care and assisted living.
A Heart for Seniors
The Peabody Heritage Foundation is part of the legacy of George F. Peabody. This Fox Valley businessman and community leader provided for seniors and others who had limited funds or mobility.
The Heritage and Peabody Manor community retirement facility was built to serve seniors and others who need assisted living. They have a place to live and the level of skilled care they need thanks to his legacy and the endowment fund he established. Today, this legacy continues with the support of donors like you.
Needs Adjusted Choices
When an elderly neighbor needs care, the decisions can be daunting. At Peabody Manor, seniors in need can live in a cheerful, nurturing environment. Donor support gives them more choices for better quality of life.
ThedaCare Peabody Manor is a Medicare-certified facility. Seniors receive long-term or short-term skilled nursing care as well as rehabilitation services. Located on 34 wooded acres on the south side of Appleton, it’s an inviting place to call home. Seniors enjoy walking trails, resident-tended gardens and other amenities.
This “aging-in-place” community is part of the ThedaCare family. It provides needs-adjusted choices for senior living. Each resident receives the level of care needed. Their lifestyle includes a wide array of services, activities and friends.
Theda Clark Peters envisioned good things for the people of Neenah and Northeastern Wisconsin. At the ThedaCare Foundation-Neenah, we’re privileged to carry on her legacy.

A rehabilitative garden provides an opportunity for patients to practice skills they’ll need once they return home, such as walking up stairs or on an uneven surface. As an added bonus, gardening provides social contacts and beautiful landscape that residents, visitors and others appreciate.
Better breast cancer screening improves cancer care and prevention. Foundation funds contributed to the purchase ofing 3-D breast tomosynthesis machines for breast center locations in Neenah and Appleton. On September 20th, 2021 ThedaCare Family of Foundations hosted its annual High Flyin’ Golf Outing in support of ThedaCare Cancer Care. With COVID-19 precautions in place, nearly 100 golfers gathered at North Shore Golf Club in Menasha to raise more than $75,000 in support of our patients. They were met with fun and education on the course as volunteers highlighted foundation-funded projects like the Green Box Thermal Systems, which keep medications cool as they are transported to our critical access sites for patients in cancer research trials and Accuvein technology, that keeps vein-finding needle pokes to a minimum, enhancing both the patient and caregiver’s experience.
Remarks from Dave Kievet, President & COO of lead sponsor The Boldt Company, wrapped up the evening, underscoring the importance of supporting community health and thanking the attendees – many of whom are business partners of ThedaCare – for showing support of our ThedaCare teams who continue to pursue our mission of improving the health and well-being of our communities during this unprecedented time.

In order to best ensure the safety and health of each of you, our staff, youth, and other friends of ThedaCare, Dr. Andrabi shared: “We cannot do this alone – it takes every health system, public health entity, school system, businesses and all community members to respond to COVID-19 and to minimize the impact of this surge, We all must do our part, so we can move forward safely, together.”
As many of you know, this program is vital to the safety of our community. It has brought over 6,000 of our area youth together annually, to educate on the impact of distracted driving. Your presence and support of this program is paramount to the students who walk through our doors.
