Patient Health Care Communication
At ThedaCare, we believe that your health journey is personal. We’re here to support you every step of the way. To make it easier and more efficient to connect with your health care provider, we offer multiple communication options. Along with using our patient portal, MyThedaCare, we encourage you to enable text messaging for quick, convenient updates. These tools will empower you in managing your care.
By choosing one or more communication options, you’ll receive important, non-soliciting updates about your health care. These include appointment confirmations, MyThedaCare notifications, care management updates, alerts for outstanding balances, pharmacy information, and other essential information to keep you informed and on track.
Getting Started is Easy:
- Text “START” to 35814.

ThedaCare Updated Texting Number FAQs
If you have already been receiving text messages from ThedaCare, the number from which you’ve been receiving messages has changed to 35814. This change allows us to better serve your communication needs with expanded texting options for communication updates related to your visits, MyThedaCare account, outstanding balances, and care management.
To begin receiving text messages from ThedaCare you can text “START” to 35814. You can also control your opt-in status and communication preferences from your MyThedaCare account to specify which updates you’d like to receive via text.
To opt out of recurring automated messages from ThedaCare, you can text “STOP” to 35814 at any time. You can also manage your opt-out status through your communication preferences within your MyThedaCare account. If you need further help, please call (800) 236-2236.
Please note the following:
- Once you reply STOP, ThedaCare will no longer be authorized to send you text messages. To reinstate receiving text messages, please text START to 35814, or log in to your MyThedaCare account to update your communication preferences.
- Replying STOP to 35814 only stops messages coming through ThedaCare. If you’re signed up to receive texts from Ripple by ThedaCare or messages regarding care needs such as mammogram or colonoscopy, you will need to reply STOP to those separately if you no longer wish to receive that type of notification.
Updating Your MyThedaCare Communication Preferences
1. In MyThedaCare, from the menu navigate to Account Settings > Communication Preferences.
2. Toggle on ‘Text message.’
Text START to 35814
- In MyThedaCare, from the menu, navigate to Account Settings > Communication Preferences.
- In the General section, verify notifications from ThedaCare are toggled on for your preferred method(s) of contact. (Email, Text, Phone, or Mail).
- To review which notifications will be delivered via a specific method of contact, expand the communication concept type(s) grouped under the Details section of this screen.
- Appointments, Messages, Health, Billing, Questionnaires, Account Management, and Insurance are each their own communication concept type. You can decide which method of contact to receive for each communication scenario within a grouped communication type.
- Within the communication type expanded menu, select ‘Advanced settings’ to review and update how you receive specific notifications within the grouped concept type.
- When finished with your preferences, select ‘Save changes.’
In MyThedaCare, from the menu, navigate to Account Settings > Communication Preferences. Toggle off or on receiving any type of communication.
Reply STOP via text message to ‘35814’ to stop receiving all recurring automated text messages.
