Heroin Summit

Community Health Network will be hosting a Heroin Summit at the Berlin High School Auditorium at 6:00 pm to address the growing problem of opiate use in our communities. The speakers will include the local police, recovering addicts, and a mother who lost her young daughter to a heroin overdose.

Dinner Is On Us

A mobile pantry truck filled with vegetables, proteins, whole wheat pasta and recipes will drive to each location where volunteers will hand-deliver the food to people who request it. Food is limited and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.

Post Race Injury Clinic

After finishing a Community First Fox Cities Marathon event, some runners and walkers may have a few aches and pains they want checked out. ThedaCare Orthopedic Care is offering a free marathon injury assessment clinic from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 24, to all participants in the full marathon, half marathon, relay marathon or 5k.

Living Mentally Well

On Mon., Sept. 22, Kevin Hines will present a program called “Living Mentally Well” beginning at 6 p.m. at Waupaca High School. He will share how to live mentally well and prevent suicides. In 2000, Hines attempted suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and survived.

Waupaca Fall O Rama

The Waupaca Fall ‘O Rama will be on Sat., Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at South Park. It will include a petting zoo, music, health demonstrations, arts and crafts and the 3rd Annual Walk for Wellness, a non-competitive walking event which includes 1 mile, 5K or 10K routes.
