Statewide Event Honors Organ Donors and Families

Donate Life Wisconsin created the annual Pause to Give Life event to bring awareness to the importance of organ, tissue and eye donation. The April 2 observance includes a Donate Life flag-raising ceremony and moment of silence at hospitals statewide to honor donors and their families.

Stop the Bleed Training Saves Lives

At the age of 12, I earned my first CPR certification. My mom encouraged me to become a certified lifeguard three years later. Both training programs increased my confidence, providing me with the necessary skills and knowledge to help someone if he or she needed it.

I was forced to depend on others but hated to ask. Then a friend said, “If you don’t ask someone for help, you’re denying them the opportunity for grace.” That was good advice as I started rehab right after surgery. The help they gave was phenomenal and the exercises they’ve taught me have worked really well.
