“I would absolutely do it again if I had to.”
Some people say there’s nothing routine about surgery, but I was impressed at how easily my procedure happened. I went in for surgery on Tuesday, and I came back home on Thursday. I did all of my rehab at home. I slowly moved from a walker to a cane, and then to my own two feet. It did take me some time to regain my gait though. I was overcompensating, so my other leg was becoming sore. But over time, my body readjusted, and I was on my way to recovery.
I’d recommend ThedaCare, hands down. I knew I’d get the right treatment here. I knew everything would be up-to-date and state-of-the-art. Also, it was nice to get to know the people at the hospital. My wife is a ThedaCare nurse, but I didn’t get any preferential treatment—and that’s the way it should be.
