“I’m not used to being the center of attention.”
When the hospital where we had our first three kids discontinued its OB Department, we had to find a new place to have our fourth. I talked to other mothers and they recommended the ThedaCare facility in Shawano, which was perfect for us. After all, between the farm and the kids, we don’t have a lot of spare hours in the day. But ThedaCare made my appointments easy to get to and once I was there, they got me in and out in no time flat. I was able to drop off my youngest at afternoon kindergarten, go to my appointment and be home in time to pick up the older kids from the bus. But I never felt rushed and I knew they’d take the time to answer any questions I had.
When it came time to deliver, I had a c-section, so I ended up spending four nights in the hospital and the nurses constantly checked in to make sure I was comfortable. And they kept checking up on me even after I got home. In fact, the lactation specialist called every few days to find out how things were going and invited me to join a group with other new mothers. Given how terrific they were throughout the process, I look forward to ThedaCare continuing to be a part of my kids’ lives.
