Boardwalk Planned for Navarino

The Navarino Nature Center will install a boardwalk that will go from the nature center and over a near-by pond, thanks to the local fundraising efforts. The project, estimated at $214,000, will allow visitors to enjoy the area surrounding the nature center. ThedaCare, through the Shawano Community Health Action Team, donated $500 recently toward the project.

Theda Clark Foundation Contributes 2 Million in Support of Regional Cancer Center

Theda Clark Medical Center Foundation has donated $2 million to help bring a new regional cancer center to the Appleton area. The contribution, made through the ThedaCare Family of Foundations Connect campaign, is a significant boost to ThedaCare’s commitment to provide patients and families with cancer care that respects their choices.

Free Session Offers Endometriosis Options

ThedaCare is hosting a free community program designed to help women who are suffering from endometriosis. Rami Kaldas, MD, a board-certified gynecologic surgeon and obstetrician, and Donald Menya, MD, both of the Kaldas Center for Fertility, Surgery & Pregnancy, S.C., will facilitate “Is Endometriosis Controlling Your Life” on Mon., March 23.

ThedaCare Begins Construction of Its Regional Cancer Center

With plans to open in 2016, construction of the ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center is underway. The Boldt Co. construction team broke ground on the $44 million project near Encircle Health on Capitol Drive in Appleton.

Four Legged Volunteers Needed

ThedaCare At Home Hospice is seeking four legged volunteers for therapy dog programs in Waupaca and Appleton. “We are conducting comprehensive hospice therapy dog training this spring and are looking for qualified dogs and their owners,” said Johnson, who coordinates the program.
