New Name Part of System Wide Rebranding Effort

Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca today announced it will become ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca this summer. CEO Craig Kantos said the new name is part of a system-wide rebranding effort that reflects how ThedaCare is redefining better by enriching the patient experience.

“We’re adjusting our name because we have been one organization, speaking with one voice and providing a common experience for the people we serve,” said Craig Kantos, CEO for Riverside Medical Center.  “An experience that is not just better, but continuously evolving and improving.  Our new name reflects our commitment to building relationships with our patients by delivering services with passion, compassion and empathy across the entire ThedaCare system.”

Kantos and the hospital’s Board of Directors approved the change earlier this year. ThedaCare leaders unveiled the organization’s new brand identity last fall to reinforce that all of its hospitals and clinics are part of a vast network of regional ThedaCare resources and expertise, including being Wisconsin’s first member in the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

ThedaCare Medical Center -New London completed its name change in 2014, and Berlin Memorial Hospital and Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital also recently announced name changes for their campuses. The company-wide brand identity rollout to community health systems will be completed later this year, culminating with the opening of the new ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano in fall 2015.

Official signs with the name and logo will be installed starting in June. Riverside Medical Center opened in 1954, and affiliated with ThedaCare in 2006.
