ThedaCare Family of Foundations Scholarships
In December of 2009, John F. Bergstrom established an endowment to provide scholarships in honor of his wife, Dianne, who dedicated her career as a Registered Nurse to Theda Clark Medical Center for 25 years. Four $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to students from the Fox Valley and surrounding communities.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be seeking a nursing degree and have been accepted to, or currently attending, a school with an accredited nursing program.
- Reside primarily within one of the counties in the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah service area. This includes the following counties: Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, or Winnebago.
Mr. Harvey Boehnlein honored his first wife, Ms. Ruth Stowe Boehnlein, and her lifetime of service as a registered nurse and supervisor of Theda Clark Medical Center’s obstetrics department through this scholarship. He established an additional fund to honor his second wife, Ms. Gretchen Johnson. Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be seeking a nursing degree and have been accepted to, or currently attending, a school with an accredited nursing program.
- Reside primarily within one of the counties in the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah service area. This includes the following counties: Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, or Winnebago.
This scholarship was established by Victor & Elaine Guenther to support ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah Trauma Department clinicians continuing their education. Two, $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in a health care related field.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be an employee of ThedaCare with your primary campus being ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah and your primary department being the Trauma Center.
- Be pursuing a degree in a health care related field and have been accepted to, or currently attending a fully accredited program at a university, college or technical school.
This scholarship was established by the leadership team at ThedaCare Medical Center-New London to support New London area ThedaCare employees pursuing post-secondary education in a health care related field. Two, $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in a health care related field.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be an employee of ThedaCare with your primary campus being ThedaCare Medical Center-New London, ThedaCare Physicians-New London, ThedaCare Physicians-Manawa or ThedaCare Physicians-Weyauwega.
- Be pursuing a degree in a health care related field and have been accepted to, or currently attending, a fully accredited program at a university, college or technical school.
The ThedaCare Family of Foundations is currently accepting applications for the scholarship opportunities listed above. The application deadline is 11:59 pm on May 24, 2023. No late applications will be considered. Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 21, 2023.
All of the ThedaCare Family of Foundations scholarships listed above are a one-time award; however, students are welcome to apply each year they are in school and meet the scholarship(s) criteria.

School of Radiologic Technology Scholarships
- The ThedaCare School of Radiologic Technology awards two student scholarships each year at the end the fourth semester. This scholarship is given to the student with the class’s highest grade point average for the first three semesters averaged together. This $500 scholarship is payable to ThedaCare School of Radiologic Technology, to be used toward the student’s final year of school.
- This $500 award is given to two students at graduation. Jackie Lenth was a past graduate of our program and employee at Theda Clark who died of cancer. This award is given to a student who shares Lenth’s commitment to excellence in patient care, as well as her great rapport with fellow students and peers. The lead technologist, supervisors and school faculty vote on this award.

Volunteers of ThedaCare Scholarships
- The Volunteers of ThedaCare Appleton award six scholarships for graduating high school seniors who will be pursuing higher education in a health career field at a 2-year or 4-year Wisconsin college.
- Each year, one of the scholarships is awarded to a ThedaCare Appleton Student Volunteer who has offered exceptional volunteer support, including additional volunteer hours, while demonstrating compassion and maturity.

- The Volunteers of ThedaCare Waupaca offer several annual $1,000 scholarships for graduating high school seniors who are pursuing health care careers. Each scholarship is renewable for three years if the student meets grade point average requirements, continues pursuing a health career, and lives in the Waupaca service area (Amherst, Iola-Scandinavia, Manawa, Waupaca, or Weyauwega-Fremont).
- The Volunteers also offer a $1,000 scholarship each year to a ThedaCare Waupaca employee.

- The ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah Volunteer Auxiliary award annual scholarships to students pursuing careers in health care.
- The scholarship must be used within the calendar year to which it is awarded.

- The Volunteers of ThedaCare Wild Rose are offering several scholarships ranging from $500-$1,500 for graduating high school seniors or college students who are pursuing health or medical related career programs.
- Applicants must be graduating from Almond-Bancroft, Tri-County, Wautoma or Wild Rose high schools or live in Waushara County.
