Be Proactive About Your Health
Understanding your risk for heart and vascular disease is important for your long-term heart health. ThedaCare Cardiovascular Care offers diagnostic and preventative screening opportunities within each of the seven ThedaCare hospitals in our primary service area, as well as two online risk assessment tools.

In-Person Screenings
Blood Pressure Screening
It’s important to measure blood pressure regularly. The American Heart Association recommends blood pressure less than 120/80. High blood pressure increases your risk of heart attack and stroke, but can be controlled by lifestyle changes (diet and exercise) and/or by medications.
Cholesterol Screening
A cholesterol test is a simple blood test to measure the amount of “good” and “bad” cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood. Too much cholesterol can lead to heart disease and stroke.
Calcium CT Score
A calcium score is an imaging test used to detect calcium deposits in the coronary arteries, which can increase risk for heart disease.
Carotid Artery Screenings
An ultrasound of your carotid arteries used to detect narrowed carotid arteries due to plaque buildup, which increases the risk of stroke.
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screenings
An ultrasound of your abdominal aorta to detect weakened/bulging areas of the artery called aneurysms.

Heart Risk Assessment
This assessment is a questionnaire used to determine risk for coronary artery disease. Coronary artery disease develops when major blood vessels that supply your heart with blood, oxygen and nutrients become damaged or diseased.
Peripheral Artery Disease Risk Assessment
This assessment is a questionnaire used to determine risk for peripheral artery disease. Peripheral artery disease is a common circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs.
