QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is designed for the general public to enhance awareness and teach the warning signs of suicide. There is no cost. Early recognition of the warning signs and knowing the three simple steps saves lives. There will be a training on Monday, October 20 from 6pm – 7pm at the Masonic Center (520 N. Bridge Street) in Manawa.
Community Health Network will be hosting a Heroin Summit at the Berlin High School Auditorium at 6:00 pm to address the growing problem of opiate use in our communities. The speakers will include the local police, recovering addicts, and a mother who lost her young daughter to a heroin overdose.
A mobile pantry truck filled with vegetables, proteins, whole wheat pasta and recipes will drive to each location where volunteers will hand-deliver the food to people who request it. Food is limited and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.
Join other women who share the same desire to become a mother and learn, share and listen. This is a place for comfort, compassion, and an overall safe zone to talk about your current and past fertility struggles and be surrounded with support.

Miles for Myeloma will be held Saturday, October 4th at Encircle Health. There is a 2 mile and 5K walk/run, as well as a kids fun run.

After finishing a Community First Fox Cities Marathon event, some runners and walkers may have a few aches and pains they want checked out. ThedaCare Orthopedic Care is offering a free marathon injury assessment clinic from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 24, to all participants in the full marathon, half marathon, relay marathon or 5k.
