ThedaCare leaders are pleased to announce that Orthopaedic Specialists of Neenah joined the health system effective Sat., July 27. As a result of this merger, the five physicians, one nurse practitioner, one physician assistant and 19 staff of Orthopaedic Specialists will become ThedaCare employees.

Jennifer Zimmer Young is the new medication safety officer for Appleton Medical Center (AMC) and Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. In her new role, she provides guidance and oversight of safe medication practices throughout the medication management process.

Construction of the new $50 million ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawno was approved at the June 18 meeting of the ThedaCare Board of Trustees in Appleton. The new medical center, expected to open in early 2015, will replace the 82-year-old Shawano Medical Center and create a local center for convenient, coordinated health care.
