2022 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Ranking

ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah was one of 127 participating Vizient members in the large, specialized complex care medical centers group. The hospital was recognized for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality care based on the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, which has been conducted annually since 2005.

The ranking measured performance on the quality of patient care in six domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and equity. The ranking factors in measures from the Vizient Clinical Data Base and includes performance data from the HCAHPS survey and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network. The Vizient Quality and Accountability Ranking helps participating hospitals and health systems understand their performance against their peers and identifies structures and processes associated with high performance in quality and safety across a broad spectrum of patient care activity.

“Hospitals today are using data and analytics to help them more effectively deliver superior clinical outcomes and patient experiences,” said David Levine, group senior vice president, advanced analytics and product management with Vizient, Inc. “As a Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Top Performer, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Neenah has demonstrated a successful leadership style, a shared sense of purpose, a focus on results, and a culture of collaboration, accountability and adaptability. We congratulate them on their achievement.”

2022 Top Performer in Supplier Diversity Excellence Ranking

ThedaCare was also recognized as one of 28 top performers in the complex care medical center group as a champion of inclusion and diversity in its supply chain through engagement, empowerment and utilization of minority-, women-, LGBT-, veteran-owned and disability-owned business enterprises.

Selection criteria for the Supplier Diversity Excellence Ranking is based on contract purchases with certified minority-, women-, LGBT-, disability- and veteran-owned businesses as a percentage of a member’s Vizient spend. This year, 169 Vizient member hospitals were divided into four cohorts and scoring for the awards was based on purchasing data.

“It is with great pleasure that we recognize ThedaCare as a top performer in Supplier Diversity Excellence,” said Simrit Sandhu, executive vice president, Vizient. “By creating new opportunities for diverse suppliers, especially those in the local community, it strengthens the overall supply chain and improves the health of the local economy. We are excited to celebrate the work of ThedaCare in this area.”

The recognition demonstrates ThedaCare’s continued path to creating healthier communities.

“ThedaCare is committed to being a population health organization that understands the health status for groups of people so we can take a more proactive approach,” said Dr. Andrabi. “It is important that we use a holistic lens for each patient to understand their unique needs. Quality metrics such as the ones measured through the Vizient recognition program, helps our system monitor progress, allowing teams to continue preparing and responding to the needs of the communities we serve, now and in the future.”

The recognition period is for work spanning July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
