Both Jack and I have volunteered at the hospital since shortly after we retired here 20 years ago. I had always been short of breath. A pulmonologist recommended pulmonary rehab. I wasn’t enthused because as a sedentary person, I was much happier sitting down and not moving, but my lungs needed to move.

Recently, one of my colleagues pointed out to me there is some confusion about what the labels of DO and MD after a doctor’s name really means. I had not thought about the distinction since in every day medical practice I do not see a difference.

In an age when electronic communication often helps simplify and speed access to information, last spring ThedaCare launched patient eVisits with primary care providers. EVisits do not require patients to go into a clinic to be seen in person by a care provider; rather, patients log on to their MyThedaCare private web account, select what they want to be “seen” for, and answer several questions specific to their ailment.
When ThedaCare speech therapist Meghan Gallagher was looking for an effective way to lose some extra weight, she knew ThedaCare’s intensive Lifestyle Intervention Program fit the bill.

National poison prevention week is March 19-25, 2017. Every year about 2.4 million people swallow or have contact with a poisonous substance. One-half of these cases involve children under 6 years of age.
