Today, HHS’ Million Hearts initiative recognizes nine public and private practices and health systems across the country for success in achieving excellent rates of high blood pressure control.
The Riverside Health Foundation seeks applicants for the Boudry Memorial Scholarship, the Nancy Salan Memorial Nursing Scholarship, and the Isabelle Rowe Nursing Scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded in May 2012.
Twelve-year-old Jack Goerlinger recently received a wish through the Make-a-Wish Foundation. While he is extremely grateful, Jack said with uncanny honesty, “My real wish is that this never happened to me.” Jack has microscopic polyangiitis (MPA). The annual incidence of MPA is 3 cases per 1 million people.

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) renewed accreditation of the ThedaCare Breast Centers, recognizing the health system’s dedication to improving the quality of care and monitoring the outcome of patients with breast diseases.

It had been many years since Mayor Gary Henke went to see a doctor. When his new family physician, Dr. Donn Fuhrmann at ThedaCare Physicians-New London, suggested he get a colonoscopy, Mayor Henke agreed.
