People can attend a free ThedaCare session on Tues., Oct. 7, “Living with Foot and Ankle Pain,” and learn about the latest surgical and non-surgical options to help their feet feel better. A question-and-answer session with Kristen Kuratnick Sandoe, MD, foot and ankle specialist; and JP Larson, PT; both of ThedaCare Orthopedic Care, will follow the talk.

Dean Sondrol, physical therapist and clinical lead at Riverside Medical Center for the past 19 years, has been involved with developing and improving the triathlon since it began 14 years ago. Dean serves as the course director and a member of the Board of Directors.

Obesity issues affect an individual and the community in which they live. Excess weight creates health problems leading to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, orthopedic difficulties and more. It can create mental health and self-esteem issues as well as limit worker productivity. Today obesity affects how buildings and transportation are designed.

More than 470 pounds of medicine were collected during a Drug Take Back Day in Waupaca County. The event stemmed from a September 2013 plunge into drugs and alcohol sponsored by the Waupaca Community Health Action Team, or CHAT.
The New London area is attempting to battle obesity with the help of the New London Community Health Action Team (CHAT). A 2013 plunge into obesity indicated the community need to address obesity.
