Orthopedic surgeon Brett Young, MD, has returned to New London to continue to provide care with ThedaCare Orthopedic Care at ThedaCare Medical Center-New London. “I live in Appleton but practiced in New London when I first came to the area in 2002,” he said. “I enjoyed it there and when the opportunity came with Dr. Dietrich retiring, I was happy to return to New London.”

ThedaCare unveiled the newly constructed Juliette Manor in June, a 37-bed skilled nursing facility, or nursing home, on the campus of Berlin Memorial Hospital. The new Juliette Manor replaces a facility of the same name built in 1964 that once served as the community’s original hospital. ThedaCare and CHN reached an affiliation agreement in 2014 that included a commitment by ThedaCare to invest in capital improvements within the CHN service area.

Demolition of the former Juliette Manor nursing home, and prior site of the original hospital in Berlin at 169 E. Huron Street, will begin next month said John Gijsen, director of facilities management-system locations for ThedaCare. “This building is an important part of the history of the community; but due to its age and specialized use, it is more cost effective to remove the building than repurpose the facility.”
