Matt Wille Joins ThedaCare as Chief Operating Officer

ThedaCare leaders are pleased to announce Matt Wille, FACHE, MHA, MPPA, will be joining the organization as Chief Operating Officer for ThedaCare. In this critical leadership role, Matt will share his skills and experience as an operator.

“In my work, I always strive to create a healing environment that we would expect for ourselves and our families,” said Wille. “I feel through the leadership I can provide to support ThedaCare’s operational goals, the organization can continue providing exceptional care for the people of Wisconsin, just as they’ve done for more than a century.”

Wille will collaborate with ThedaCare’s executive leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems that support the growth and population health objectives of the organization.

Matt’s background demonstrates his commitment to providing the best care possible, which aligns with ThedaCare’s mission, values and promise to our patients.”

Wille received a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, a Masters of Healthcare Administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Iowa. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, serves as a member on Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association and serves as the vice chair of the Legislative Policy Panel of the Michigan Hospital Association.

Prior to joining ThedaCare, Wille most recently served as president and CEO of Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. He has also held numerous leadership positions at various health systems in Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois.

Mark Thompson, current chief operating officer and chief financial officer of ThedaCare, will transition to serve as chief transformation investment officer in the new structure created by Froedtert Health and ThedaCare’s planned combined organization, which is expected to launch at the beginning of the new year. 

Wille will begin his role at ThedaCare on October 30, 2023.
