Dr. Mira Iliescu-Levine Joins ThedaCare as Chief Medical Officer of Network Development and Innovation

ThedaCare leaders are pleased to announce Mira Iliescu-Levine, MD, FACCP, will join the organization as Chief Medical Officer of Network Development and Innovation. In this role, Dr. Iliescu-Levine will lead the continued development of an expanded, highly-integrated provider and facility network at ThedaCare. She will work to advance care delivery for patients and families of Northeast and Central Wisconsin, while supporting ThedaCare’s mission of improving the health and well-being of communities served.

“I am looking forward to joining ThedaCare which has a long-standing history of delivering comprehensive, quality care for the region,” said Dr. Iliescu-Levine. “I am eager to work in collaboration with clinical and operational leaders to support the quality care provided by ThedaCare team members every day.”

Dr. Iliescu-Levine was born in Bucharest, Romania, where she notes that she was fortunate to be surrounded by very talented, strong-minded women who supported her career and determination. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania. She holds a Certified Physician Leadership Certification from the American Association of Physician Leaders (AAPL), as well as earned a Physician Leadership Certification, completed an Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary-Critical Care Fellowship through Chicago Medical School.

Before joining ThedaCare, Dr. Iliescu-Levine held various leadership roles with AMITA and Ascension, specifically in TeleICU/Tele Health Services. She has also worked for Sinai Health System holding various leadership positions including Chief Medical Officer, Chair of Department of Internal Medicine and President of Medical Staff. In addition to her work, Dr. Iliescu-Levine is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Chicago Medical School. She is a member of the American Medical Association and an Affiliate Fellow with the American College of Chest Physicians.

Dr. Iliescu-Levine will begin her role at ThedaCare on May 30, 2023.
