ThedaCare to Open FastCare Clinic in Meijer

ThedaCare will open a FastCare clinic in the new Meijer grocery store in Appleton’s northside on May 14. This is the third ThedaCare FastCare clinic in the Fox Cities. A grand opening celebration will be May 17.

Location Makes it Easy for Shoppers to Access Expert, Local Care

ThedaCare will open a FastCare clinic in the new Meijer grocery store in Appleton’s northside on May 14. This is the third ThedaCare FastCare clinic in the Fox Cities. A grand opening celebration will be May 17.

“We know that 20-30 percent of people in our community don’t have a primary care physician,” said Kelli Heindel, MD, medical director leading the FastCare and Walk-in Care clinic initiatives for ThedaCare. “When people need care, they want to get in quickly, find the care they need, and get on with their day. FastCare clinics are in areas where people shop every day, like Meijer, so it’s easy for them to get expert, local care. We’re proud to partner with Meijer to bring these healthcare services to their customers.”

FastCare clinics are staffed by ThedaCare nurse practitioners and supervised by a medical director. They provide care for common and relatively straightforward conditions, as well as immunizations, flu vaccinations, screenings, and some labs, such as pregnancy tests, rapid strep and urinalysis (for females 12 and older only).

People do not have to be a ThedaCare patient to receive care. No appointments are needed, and the FastCare clinics have extended hours, making it convenient for busy families to find the care they need after hours, on weekends and holidays. FastCare clinics accept most insurances and office visit co-pays apply. For those who have no insurance, FastCare is just $69 per visit.

FastCare cannot conduct diagnostic tests such as x-rays, ultrasounds or more intensive lab work. All patients must be 18 months old or older.

The new FastCare clinic at Meijer joins FastCare clinics in Shopko in Appleton and Shopko Express in Darboy. “ThedaCare is committed to our mission of improving the health of the communities we serve. FastCare Clinics, Walk-in Care clinics and eVisits are great options for people to receive excellent care in ways that make the most sense for them,” said Dr. Heindel.
