Zachary Baeseman, MD, to Provide Obstetrics, Expanded Services

WILD ROSE, Wis. Zachary Baeseman, MD, has been named the full-time physician at ThedaCare Physicians-Wild Rose effective April 1. Dr. Baeseman, a family medicine physician with ThedaCare in Waupaca since 2014, will also provide pre-natal care for expectant mothers to Wild Rose. Additionally, he will offer skin biopsy, vasectomies and chronic disease management at the clinic. Dr. Baeseman will continue to deliver newborns and perform C-sections at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca.

Dr. Baeseman is fellowship-trained in advanced obstetrics and also holds a master’s degree in public health. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, completed his residency at the UW-Fox Valley Family Medicine Residency Program in Appleton (now Mosaic Health) and received his fellowship training in obstetrics at Swedish Family Medicine in Seattle. Dr. Baeseman has a passion for rural health care, both providing it and helping train future physicians to embrace the specialty. As a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, he expects to have medical students train alongside him in Wild Rose.

“Serving rural families is one of my biggest passions,” Dr. Baeseman said. “I want to be a stabilizing force for the people in Wild Rose so they can depend on expert, local health care for the long term.”

Dr. Baeseman grew up in the small town of Edgar, Wisconsin, and earned his undergraduate degree at St. Norbert College. He and his wife Rebecca live in Waupaca with their two young children and his hunting dog, Artemis. Outside of work, Dr. Baeseman competes in the annual Birkebeiner cross-country ski marathon. He also enjoys everything from choral singing and camping to hunting and backpacking.
