With the vision of enhancing comprehensive cancer care for Northeast and Central Wisconsin, ThedaCare finalized the acquisition of the assets of the physician group Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology (FVHO).

Expanding Access to Expert, Local Cancer Care

With the vision of enhancing comprehensive cancer care for Northeast and Central Wisconsin, ThedaCare finalized the acquisition of the assets of the physician group Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology (FVHO).

“By combining the world-class talent of these two organizations, we are ensuring patients and their families have enhanced access to cancer care experts along their journey of care,” said Imran Andrabi, MD, president and CEO of ThedaCare. “This strengthens the ThedaCare mission of improving the health of the communities we serve.”

The acquisition expands access to oncology excellence for the patients in the communities where they live and work including Appleton, Neenah and Oshkosh, and especially in the rural areas including Berlin, Shawano, New London and Waupaca where ThedaCare is now offering cancer care multiple days per week.

“The doctors, nurses and team members, along with technology, clinical trials and research, allow us to provide advanced care close to home,” Dr. Andrabi added.

ThedaCare Cancer Care, which now includes approximately 25 oncology providers, is focused on care that respects patients and their families by honoring their choices, brings a team of top-talent care providers to the table, and offers a broad range of treatments, services and resources. The team of cancer specialists works closely with a patient’s primary care physician as part of the larger care team. ThedaCare Cancer Care also offers access to the latest technologies and treatments, including clinical trials, connections to community resources, as well as support for navigating complex care steps, and has complementary care like music therapy, massage and nutrition.

For more than 100 years, ThedaCare™ has been committed to finding a better way to deliver serious and complex healthcare to patients throughout Northeast Wisconsin. The organization serves over 200,000 patients annually and employs more than 6,700 healthcare professionals throughout the region. ThedaCare has seven hospitals located in Appleton, Neenah, Berlin, Waupaca, Shawano, New London and Wild Rose as well as 31 clinics in nine counties. ThedaCare is the first in Wisconsin to be a Mayo Clinic Care Network Member, giving specialists the ability to consult with Mayo Clinic experts on a patient’s care.
