In-Patient Services Receive Optum’s Platinum Designation
ThedaCare earned national recognition for delivering highly effective, cost-effective inpatient mental health care.
ThedaCare Behavioral Health recently received the Platinum designation by Optum, formerly known as United Behavioral Health, for the work it does in the Fox Cities. Optum bases its honor on clinical data collected throughout the year.
“We’re extremely proud and honored to receive this Platinum distinction,” said Jean DeKeyser, executive director of ThedaCare Behavioral Health. “It’s a truly well-deserved acknowledgement of the great work being performed by our staff members. When a provider refers a patient to us, they know they’re going to receive excellent care and Optum’s Platinum Award affirms that trust is well placed.”
Optum looked at specific criteria, such as readmission rates and the average length of inpatient stays at ThedaCare Behavioral Health’s inpatient unit at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, comparing it with other regionally based facilities as part of the selection process.
“I believe ThedaCare Behavioral Health truly represents the epitome of what outstanding mental health care services can and should be,” said Rick Jemanez, MD, the national medical director of Optum’s External Health Plans. “They are a credit to their community and to the mental health profession at large.”
ThedaCare Behavioral Health is the largest behavioral health provider in Northeast Wisconsin, providing inpatient and outpatient mental health, alcohol and drug treatment, psychological and neuropsychological testing, and psychiatry to more than 10,000 individual patients annually. ThedaCare Behavioral Health has offices in five locations in Menasha, Neenah, Oshkosh, Shawano, and Waupaca. In addition, mental health clinicians provide treatment in 11 primary care physician offices.
