Furniture Store is Planned

The Shawano Medical Center-Rehabilitation Services building at 116 N. Main Street in Shawano has been sold to local businessman and developer Doug Burris.

ThedaCare, of which Shawano Medical Center is a part, sold the building in preparation for the rehabilitation clinic’s move to ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano, which  is under construction at the intersection at County B and Highway 22 in Shawano.

According to Albert Park, vice president of facilities planning at ThedaCare, the 17,000-square-foot building was sold with an understanding that rehab services would not have to move until mid-2015 when the new hospital space was ready.

Burris has plans to remodel the downtown storefront to house Badger’s Best Furniture Store, currently in Bonduel. The store’s owners plan to relocate their retail operation to downtown Shawano in 2015. No price was released.
