Construction will begin this fall to replace the existing Juliette Manor facility in Berlin. On Tuesday, April 21, the ThedaCare Board of Directors gave final approval for the new construction.

“This is exciting news for Community Health Network and ThedaCare, the residents and staff of Juliette Manor, and for the communities we serve. The replacement facility will be on the CHN hospital campus in Berlin. We are working with architects, the leadership team, and a focus group on the design of the building,” said John Feeney, CEO of Community Health Network.

The new facility is yet to be named, but will be a 37-bed skilled nursing facility that will blend state-of-the-art medical services in a serene, natural setting to make residents and their families feel like they are at home. The facility will provide care for short-term rehab residents, stable long-term care residents, and memory care.

Plans include the utilization of natural lighting, botanicals, healing gardens and courtyards, all in a design that reflects the history and distinct traits of Berlin and the surrounding communities. Boldt Construction of Appleton is the general contractor for this project, with the intent to utilize many local subcontractors for much of the work.

The new facility will be constructed on the northwest corner of the CHN campus, off of Oak Street. A new road will be added for easy access to the new Juliette Manor replacement facility, while also connecting the facility to Berlin hospital and their ancillary services, providers, specialists, along with the new dialysis center. “The efficient design and campus layout will enable fast response to patient needs and high quality service,” said Tina Marchan, Administrator of Juliette Manor.

Construction is slated to begin in Fall 2015, with occupancy anticipated for Summer 2016. A more detailed timeline and design reveal will be communicated prior to starting excavation and building.
