ThedaCare Physicians Welcomes Michael Kagen, MD
Michael Kagen, MD, has returned to his hometown to join ThedaCare Physicians-Internal Medicine in Appleton.
Dr. Kagen earned his bachelor’s degree in molecular biology at the University of Wisconsin and received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten. He completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine-Chattanooga. Dr. Kagen assisted with and completed many research projects and publications while in residency.
Dr. Kagen is excited to be back in Wisconsin to serve the community. He is a former speed skating champion and also likes to spend time hiking and biking trails with his family.
ThedaCare™ Physicians includes more than 144 employed physicians and 70 nurse practitioners and physician assistants at 22 locations throughout the region and includes specialists in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, sports medicine, rehabilitation, orthopedics and general surgery. There is also a FastCare clinic located in Shawano. ThedaCare Physicians is a leader in implementing an electronic medical records system, including a patient portal called MyThedaCare, that allows patients to access their medical information, request appointments, refill prescriptions, and consult their physician from their home computer.
ThedaCare™ is a community health system consisting of seven hospitals: Appleton Medical Center, Theda Clark Medical Center, ThedaCare Medical Center-New London, Shawano Medical Center, and Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. In addition, Community Health Network (CHN) and Wild Rose Memorial Hospital are integrating into ThedaCare. ThedaCare also includes ThedaCare Physicians, ThedaCare Behavioral Health, and ThedaCare at Home. ThedaCare is one of the largest employers in Northeast Wisconsin with more than 6,175 employees, with the CHN and Wild Rose employees joining ThedaCare in January 2015.
