ThedaCare announced today that Berlin Memorial Hospital and Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital will become ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin and ThedaCare Medical Center-Wild Rose when their exterior monument signs are updated. The Wild Rose name change takes effect today, Fri., July 29, and Berlin will convert on Aug. 9 The new names complete an organization-wide rebranding effort announced two years ago to identify all ThedaCare locations in Wisconsin with the same name.

Berlin Memorial Hospital and Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital and their clinics affiliated with ThedaCare in 2014. The clinics, CHN Medical Centers and Waushara Family Physicians, will change their names to ThedaCare Physicians following the hospital updates.

“We’re adjusting our name because we have been one organization, speaking with one voice and providing a common experience for the people we serve, since the Wild Rose hospital joined ThedaCare more two years ago,” said Craig Kantos, CEO for ThedaCare Medical Center-Wild Rose. “An experience that is continuously evolving and improving. Our new name reflects our commitment to building relationships with our patients by delivering services with passion, compassion and empathy across the entire ThedaCare system.”

Although the hospitals have new names, patients can still expect the same high-quality, local care, said John Feeney, CEO for ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin.

“The name change culminates the work we have been doing since we joined ThedaCare and reinforces that we are part of a vast network of regional resources and expertise, including being Wisconsin’s first member in the Mayo Clinic Care Network. Those connections allow us to bring additional services to patients here in our community,” Feeney said. “We are motivated to continue the next phase of our integration into ThedaCare. This hospital has served our community for more than 100 years and our partnership with ThedaCare will secure our ability to do so for many more years to come. We’re excited to finish the branding portion of our partnership and take on a new name and look.”

The decision to rebrand all of ThedaCare’s hospitals and other facilities was made in 2014 after thoughtful, extensive research with health system leadership, team members and the community, said Brian Burmeister, senior vice president, ThedaCare Medical Centers.

“We’re excited to see our rebranding efforts come to fruition,” he said. “These name changes help reinforce that ThedaCare is one system and we are all connected. We like to say we have one hospital – with seven locations.”

The Berlin and Wild Rose hospitals are the last of seven ThedaCare hospitals to change their name. ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin began serving patients in 1911 while ThedaCare Medical Center-Wild Rose opened in 1941.
