ThedaCare’s Advanced Practice Clinician Fellowship
At ThedaCare, we understand and honor the vital role nurse practitioners and physician assistants play in caring for patients. That led us to create the Advanced Practice Clinician Fellowship in Primary Care. The program provides additional education, support, and resources to NPs and PAs as they transition to practice and continue to grow in their careers.
The APC Fellowship enhances the clinical experience for NPs and PAs. Through the program, participants engage in high-quality experiences designed to help them grow, learn, and thrive in their careers. In the long run, this benefits APCs as well as the patients and communities they serve.

Program Details, Application Process & Contact Information
Housed within ThedaCare Physicians- Appleton Gateway, ThedaCare Physicians APC Fellowship promotes a novice APC’s professional development, maturation, and lifelong learning with faculty-precepted training. Our faculty members (MD, DO & APCs) provide the opportunity for a 1:4 faculty to fellow ratio. Our faculty support the fellows to learn advanced concepts in population health, evidence-based practices, and provide mentorship to promote continued growth and development, laying the foundation for a fulfilling, long term career within our organization.
Our program provides clinical and didactic experiences, providing real-time feedback in a supportive teaching environment. Our program guides the APC to successfully transition in to an independent practice upon completion of the 12-month fellowship.

The Future After Fellowship
The TCP APC Fellowship program allows us to provide a strong start to a new clinician’s career, setting them up for long term success as a key member of our APC workforce within ThedaCare Physicians. As a part of their continued path to success within the organization, our ThedaCare Provider Recruitment team will provide opportunities for future employment to our Fellows, approximately six months into the program, readying them for the next step in their journey as a valued member of our Primary Care team.
The program begins new cohorts each January and September. Four spots are available in each cohort.
The ideal candidate for the APC Fellowship is a new graduate NP or PA, or one who’s within one to two years of graduation. Candidates must have finished a masters-level degree as an APC. No prior clinical experience is required.
The next open cohort is January 2027. To inquire about applying, please contact Kristen Stumpf, Provider Recruiter, at kristen.stumpf@thedacare.org.
