Passion Meets Purpose
ThedaCare is thrilled to launch our Graduate Medical Education (GME) program. This endeavor offers residents a powerful opportunity to elevate health care across northeast and central Wisconsin.
The GME program, housed at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, allow residents to refine their skills alongside our accomplished physician faculty members.
Residents will train in the Fox Cities and beyond, extending their services to our rural communities, primary care settings and post-acute clinics. This hands-on experience enriches residents’ education while also allowing them to address the health care challenges facing many populations. Through our GME program, we’re excited to shape the next generation of compassionate and skilled physicians.

Program Details
To help us offer an exceptional residency program, we’re proud to partner with the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) as our sponsoring institution. This partnership provides residents access to all MCWAH benefits and offerings, as all ThedaCare residents are employed through the sponsoring institution. We encourage all prospective residents to review the MCWAH Benefits, Conditions and Terms of Employment.
Our residents also have access to the ThedaCare employee assistance program and the convenient ThedaCare At Work program, which includes no-cost urgent and acute care visits for minor illnesses and injuries.
Onsite workout facilities are available at both hospitals at no cost. At ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton, the employee gym is available 24 hours per day and includes cardio equipment and weighted resistance trainers. At ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, employees may use the cardiac rehabilitation space when not in use for patient care. In addition, our dedicated GME space includes a smaller workout room for resident use only.
In addition to MCWAH’s benefits, ThedaCare residents are encouraged to utilize their educational stipend of $1,800 per year to cover registration and travel expenses for local or national conferences, professional society memberships, journal subscriptions and approved learning materials.
Additionally, ThedaCare will pay each resident’s annual membership dues for their medical specialty society.
