Tina Brechlin of ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah recently earned her certified specialist status in trauma registry from the American Trauma Society.

Brechlin, the hospital’s trauma registrar, is 1 of only 6 in Wisconsin to receive the national certification. She earned the certification by passing a rigorous test involving data management, conditions of injury, coding and understanding of the registry.

Trauma registrars monitor and evaluate the trauma care that patients receive, using the data to prevent injury, administer quality care, educate and conduct research.

Brechlin joined ThedaCare in August 1999 after serving in the U.S. Air Force. After working as a clinical technician for surgeons and neurosurgeons, she became the trauma registrar in 2009 for ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah.
