Building Our Future: Putting Better Health into Action
APPLETON, Wis. – More than 100 community leaders from around Northeast and Central Wisconsin joined Imran A. Andrabi, MD, ThedaCare President and CEO, for a breakfast Friday morning, discussing the future of the health and well-being of our communities. The focus of the conversation featured Population Health.
“It’s a revolutionary big idea about how improved community health can be achieved while lowering the total cost of care and immeasurably impacting the quality of care delivered,” explained Dr. Andrabi. “We want to lead the way by learning how integrated data, insights and community partnerships can help our families, friends and neighbors take control of their health care experience.”
ThedaCare is transforming to become a national leader in Population Health.
“We are working every day to provide care that is high quality, safe, and that puts patients and families first,” said Dr. Andrabi. “In order to create a healthier community, we have to become an organization that proactively knows our patients, anticipates health wants and needs, prevents issues from arising and creates value.”
In order to achieve Population Health, Dr. Andrabi feels health systems must partner with other organizations in the community and nationally.
“We must collaborate to make Population Health a reality,” he said. “One of the important steps is selecting true partners, ones that share our vision. Together we will make it easy for our communities to make healthy lifestyles, understand genetic make-up, knock down social and economic walls and more.”
Kristen Valdes, founder and CEO of b.well, served as a guest speaker. The day also coincides with the 110th anniversary of first ThedaCare hospital opening its doors in 1909.
