Hematology Oncology Physician Joins ThedaCare

ThedaCare welcomes Shannon Schmidt, MD, a physician specializing in hematology and oncology who will practice at ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center in Appleton.

Dr. Schmidt received her bachelor’s degree in medical microbiology and immunology from the University of Wisconsin. She earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin and then completed a residency program in internal medicine there, serving as chief resident. Dr. Schmidt was selected to complete the Donald J. Schuenke Cancer Fellowship at Froedtert Hospital. Her professional affiliations include the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. She has expertise in medical oncology and benign/malignant hematology and special interest in treating breast cancer.

Outside of work, Dr. Schmidt loves spending time with her kids. She also likes to travel and be outside hiking, snowshoeing and skiing.
