ThedaCare Medical Center-New London Signs Going Up Thursday

New London Family Medical Center’s name has officially changed to ThedaCare Medical Center-New London, and temporary signs with the new moniker will be up Thursday.

Bill Schmidt, president of ThedaCare Medical Center-New London, said this is more than just a name change. It creates a stronger bond between the hospital and the community it serves. “The ThedaCare name is meaningful in the New London community and throughout Northeast Wisconsin,” he said. “And our staff members are proud to be a part of the ThedaCare team and want the hospital’s name to reflect this.”

ThedaCare announced at its Community Conversation breakfast last fall the name would change this spring.

Patients can still expect quality care, said Schmidt. “ThedaCare has a very strong brand name and represents healthcare quality in our market,” he said. “Given our strong brand recognition and community regard for our brand name, we want to continue building on the ThedaCare name.”

Also the name change provides a consistency that helps patients avoid confusion. “They will see they are getting consistent, high-quality across the continuum of care and across the New London campus,” said Schmidt.

Official signs with the name and logo will be installed later in the summer. Other marketing materials will transition too.
