Care of Wisconsin Will See Patients at ThedaCare

ThedaCare and Women’s Care of Wisconsin have announced plans to offer new gynecology care services to Shawano-area women beginning August 1. Therese Yarroch, MD, and Amy Zafarani, DO, both obstetrician/gynecologists of the Fox Valley-based Women’s Care of Wisconsin, will travel weekly to see patients at ThedaCare Physicians-Shawano and perform surgeries and procedures at the adjacent ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. Both physicians are experienced minimally-invasive surgeons.

According to Penney Frank, the director of operations for Women’s Care of Wisconsin, their Shawano practice will focus on bringing specialized gynecological care to women of all ages. “We help women who experience problems like heavy menstrual bleeding, menopause and hormonal issues, incontinence, prolapse, or are candidates for surgery,” she said. “Many times, women suffer in silence or put off traveling to a larger city to get help, and our model is based on bringing our services to them, close to home.” Women’s Care of Wisconsin is available to consult on obstetrics (pregnancy) cases in collaboration with Shawano-area primary care providers, but their primary focus will be on gynecology cases. “Our practice is made up of 90 people and all but one is female, so we have a level of empathy that is hard to find elsewhere,” Frank said. Women’s Care of Wisconsin has established clinics in Neenah, Appleton, Oshkosh, Berlin, and Waupaca.

To make an appointment with Dr. Zafarani or Dr. Yarroch in Shawano, patients are invited to call Women’s Care of Wisconsin at 920.729.7105.
