Support Group Designed for People with COPD, Lung Diseases
A free resource is available for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other diseases like asthma that affect breathing. The Air It Up Better Breathers Support Group meets monthly at Shawano Medical Center to provide information and support to people who have breathing problems.
Michael F. Maguire, MD, of Fox Valley Pulmonary Medicine, is the featured speaker at the group’s next meeting, which will be held at 1 p.m. on Tues., Feb. 25, in the Cedar Room at Shawano Medical Center. He will discuss common concerns that people with COPD and other lung diseases have along with possible solutions.
The Air It Up Better Breathers Support Group was started last year by Shawano Medical Center’s Cardio Pulmonary Department, ThedaCare At Home, and Erickson Home Medical. The group is an informal gathering that encourages questions and offers support to people living with chronic breathing problems.
