Wound and Ostomy Care

Protect post-surgery wounds and promote healing

Find a Wound Provider

The skin is the largest organ of your body. Several of your body systems can alter its function. Whether you have a non-healing traumatic wound, an open surgical wound, pressure injury, burn, venous ulceration, arterial ulceration, or diabetic ulcer, wound care can help restore this function. We approach every wound with a multidisciplinary perspective — treating not only your wound, but you as an individual. Our goal is to provide exceptional care to get you back to living your unique, best life.

Our Approach

Living your unique, best life means having the freedom to do what you love. We can help restore your quality of life. ThedaCare recognizes the importance of specialized and accessible wound and ostomy care and prioritizes wound care certification among our team members. Every ThedaCare hospital, excluding Wild Rose, is staffed with at least one advanced care provider specializing in advanced wound management. These hospitals provide services in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. Whether you are coming in for a visit or are hospitalized, our advanced wound care team is available for consultation. We also extend our services during your recovery at selected rehabilitation centers following your discharge. As a comprehensive, advanced wound program, we offer many treatment interventions and consult supporting specialties as needed to reach our shared goal of healing.

Wound Care Treatment

ThedaCare offers many types of wound care treatments — in outpatient, inpatient, and at-home settings.

Consulting Specialties

It takes a team to heal wounds, and you are included. We work collaboratively both internally and externally with many specialties to ensure you receive the highest quality of care with the best outcomes. This includes several home care services and supply vendors, as our goal is for you to have who and what you need when and where you need them.

Ostomy Care

If you’ve had ostomy surgery to treat digestive or urinary conditions, an opening (stoma) will be created to allow urine or waste to leave your body in place of organs that were injured or removed. Our comprehensive wound and ostomy program will guide you through this journey with ostomy education, ostomy care supplies, and emotional support.
