Thedacare Physician Earns Statewide Honor

ThedaCare family physician Kelli Heindel, MD, MS, FAAFP, received the 2015 Family Physician of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians.
Randy Roeper has been named chief operating officer for ThedaCare Physicians. As COO for ThedaCare Physicians, he is responsible for the high level day-to-day planning, coordination and performance improvement at all of ThedaCare Physicians’ primary care clinics throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Roeper will work with the current leadership team to improve clinical and service quality.
As a young child in Menasha, Dr. Alisha Fahley remembers going to doctors’ appointments with her parents and her younger sister Katie. Katie has autism, and the family made regular trips to specialists and service providers to help her reach developmental milestones. “That was my earliest exposure to health care,” said Dr. Fahley, MD, a family physician with ThedaCare Physicians-Shawano. “I realized even then that Katie’s care was disjointed. It was frustrating for my parents to keep all of her services organized and her doctors and therapists in touch with one another. Now, as a family doctor, that’s one of my biggest responsibilities—to coordinate patient care.
ThedaCare has named Laura Reed as its first chief nursing executive.
Interventional cardiologist Cherian Varghese, MD, treated a local patient at Appleton Medical Center with a newly approved coronary stent, making this the first patient in Northeastern Wisconsin to benefit from this new, faster-healing technology.
This year, all of the Theda Clark School of Radiologic Technology graduates who were seeking employment with ThedaCare were placed at various ThedaCare facilities. The Theda Clark School of Radiologic Technology is an accredited, two-year program where students develop clinical skills and become certified Registered Radiological Technologists.
Annie Menos, APNP, has recently joined Andrew Maes, DO at the Community Health Network Urology clinic. She is a graduate of the Concordia University Family Nurse Practitioner Program.

ThedaCare-affiliated physicians performed the first surgery in the new ThedaCare hybrid surgical suite on the campus of Appleton Medical Center on October 6. The high-tech operating suite is used for vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, and cardiac surgery.
