First Shipment of Medical Supplies Being Donated
ThedaCare’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of the communities served. In some cases, “our communities” extend beyond our borders of Northeast and Central Wisconsin to the greater community of humankind.
The people of Ukraine are in crisis as the conflict with Russia escalates. As community members see the heartbreaking images of homes destroyed, families torn apart to flee to safety, and numerous people injured, many team members have asked, “What can I do to help?”
ThedaCare team members have rallied together to support the humanitarian effort in three key areas where donations are needed most: monetary, medical supplies and medications.
Recently, Tom Meier, ThedaCare Inventory Technician, and Kurt Rasmussen, Supervisor of ThedaCare’s Supply Chain Distribution, prepared the first shipment of medical supplies donated from ThedaCare that will be distributed by a Midwest network of Ukrainian-American groups.
If community members would like to help, the ThedaCare Family of Foundations has created a special Ukrainian Medical and Humanitarian Care Fund, where 100% of the funds raised will be donated by ThedaCare to International Medical Corps (IMC). IMC is a global, non-profit, humanitarian aid organization that provides emergency medical services and health care training and development programs to those affected by disaster, disease or conflict. IMC is closely aligned with the ThedaCare mission, as it focuses on holistic, boots-on-the-ground care in Ukraine and Poland. If you would like to contribute:
