Froedtert ThedaCare is pleased to announce the formal opening of its latest hospital, ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh.
The health campus, located at 250 W. 6th Avenue, complements the area’s major redevelopment, including new condominiums, restaurants and more. Building the facility was a direct response to the community’s need for additional health care services, said Jenny Nikolai, Vice President of ThedaCare Medical Centers-Fond du Lac and Oshkosh.
“Most of the patient population and the population of Oshkosh lives east of Interstate 41, with health care services primarily west of I-41,” Nikolai explained. “That historically has left our population on the east side more than 15 minutes away from care that they may need. We know in an emergency that time matters and minutes count. Providing health care services close to home where over 73% of the population lives and works, allows us to meet their needs more quickly.”
In addition, the new health campus serves as a visual representation of ThedaCare’s steadfast support for the region.
“This new campus is truly indicative of our commitment to the Oshkosh community,” Nikolai said. “Our investment here is a commitment to our long-term plan to support the health and wellness of people in the region, enabling them to live their unique, best lives.”

ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh recently held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event. Planning For Future Health Needs
ThedaCare added a 28,000-square-foot third floor to the original design of the campus. The effort was a preparatory move to help better adapt to the changing needs of the community. More services may be added over time based on community needs.
“We’re here to meet our patients where they are and provide the right care for them, in the right place, at the right time,” Nikolai said. “Our patients, their families and the community were always top of mind when planning our new campus. We’ve actively developed services around them as a sign of our commitment to ensuring they can receive the quality of care they expect and deserve.”
ThedaCare worked with several partners on the building project including Miron Construction, HGA and Hplex Solutions.
The organization broke ground on the health campus in March 2024.
The campus created about 60 new caregiver and team member jobs at the facility. That number likely will grow as more services are added there. For those who are interested in learning more about careers at ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh, please visit ThedaCare.org/Careers.
