Registration is now open for the 14th annual CHN Helping Hands for Cancer 5K Run/Walk. The big day is Saturday, May 16th, when Community Health Network will once again open its Berlin Memorial Hospital campus for people of all ages to have fun while raising money for a great cause!

Time is Now to Kick Off Your 5K Training

Even though it doesn’t look like it outside, spring will soon be here. And just as flowers start appearing so do 5k fundraising runs and walks. These activities are great reasons to get outside and get exercise. But unless you’re an avid exerciser, you can’t wake up and just run a 5k. You need to train for it. You’ll need seven weeks to properly train for a 5k, which is 3.1 miles.

ThedaCare Becomes First Healthcare System in region to Add New da Vinci Surgical System

ThedaCare recently acquired the newest robotic system – the da Vinci Xi Surgical System – and patients are already enjoying the benefits of the new technology. In 2007, Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah was the first to offer da Vinci technology in the Fox Cities and ThedaCare continues to be at the technological forefront by being the first healthcare system outside of Milwaukee and Madison to offer the latest da Vinci robotics.

Show Menopause Whos Boss

Women looking for ways to cope with the troublesome symptoms of menopause can attend the free community program, “Show Menopause Who’s Boss.” Chris Danz, APNP, of Women’s Care of Wisconsin, will discuss ways to cope with the fatigue, anxiety, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, night sweats and mood swings that menopause can bring. Chris will also discuss how women can get fluctuating hormones under control and take charge of their bodies again.

ThedaCare Announces Construction of Neenah Clinic

ThedaCare announced plans for a newly constructed clinic in Neenah to replace its two family practice locations on S. Commercial Street and Tullar Road in Neenah and the endocrine and internal medicine clinics currently located in the office buildings at Theda Clark Medical Center. The newly consolidated clinic’s future location is not yet confirmed, although officials said they are focused on property that is easily accessible from Hwy. 41. Construction is slated to begin this spring and should take 10 to 12 months.

What is Perimenopause

Perimenopause is the stage in a woman’s life when the ovaries gradually begin to make less estrogen, lasting through menopause. The perimenopausal transition usually starts in a woman’s 40s but can start in her 30s or earlier.
