This increases the chance for exposure to cold, influenza and other illnesses. Families can make sure children are up-to-date with vaccinations, ensure a healthy immune system by eating a good diet, and making sure children have a good night’s sleep. There are other ways to reduce the numbers of sick days your child faces.

When it comes to Halloween, containing kids’ excitement is a real challenge. There’s decorations, costumes and candy – probably way too much of that. But even though everyone is having a lot of fun, it’s also important to play it safe. Your child isn’t likely to be chased by goblins or ghosts, but it’s possible she may trip and fall over her long princess gown or you may lose sight of him as he runs ahead of the group and into the street. As you start planning your Halloween celebration, keep these safety rules in mind so everyone has a good time.

ThedaCare has purchased land for a new clinic in Neenah to replace its two family practice locations on S. Commercial Street and Tullar Road in Neenah and the endocrine and internal medicine clinics currently at Theda Clark Medical Center. The newly consolidated clinic will be located on 9.4 acres at 333 N. Green Bay Road between Main Street and Winchester Road in Neenah. Construction will begin this fall and take 10 to 12 months.

Preeclampsia is a condition pregnant women develop and is marked by high blood pressure and a high level of protein in the urine. The women will often have swelling in the feet, legs and hands, a condition that appears in the second half of pregnancy. If undiagnosed, preeclampsia can develop into eclampsia, a serious condition that can put the woman and baby at risk, and in rare cases, cause death.
Mental and emotional stress, physical inactivity, calorie-packed birthday cakes and rampant desktop eating can add up to hundreds of empty calories and fruitless blood sugar spikes throughout the workday.
