NEENAH, Wis. – Two community leaders will join the ThedaCare Board of Trustees, the governing body for the local, not-for-profit health care organization. The ThedaCare Board supports the organizations’ vision of Population Health, empowering patients and the community to improve their health and wellbeing through access to comprehensive care, programs and services.

Jim Kotek, President and CEO of Menasha Corporation and newly appointed Chair of the ThedaCare Board of Trustees, announced John Beré and Kim Underhill have been elected to the Board, effective January 1, 2021.

“Board members ensure the organization advances its mission of improving community health, while providing financial and quality oversight and strategic decision-making,” said Kotek. “We have always made decisions to help ensure safe care for patients and families in our communities. By providing easy access to high quality care, we can empower people to live their best lives through better health.”

“These two exceptional, community-oriented leaders will ensure our mission is strong and our focus unwavering on the delivery of quality care to those we are privileged to serve,” said Imran Andrabi, MD, ThedaCare President & CEO. “We are thankful to have the added skills and expertise of Kim Underhill and John Beré to support our Board of Trustees.”

John Beré serves as Vice President of Care Operations for Alta Resources, a global customer relationship business process outsourcing (BPO) company. John leads a 2,000 person operating group where he and his team are focused on Alta’s #1 Guiding Principle of delivering results for clients and achieving Alta’s Strategic Mandate of Employee Engagement by creating a culture that puts people first. He is also an active member of Alta’s Advisory Board of Directors serving since 2015. Prior to joining Alta Resources, John served on the Corporate Strategy team at DaVita Healthcare Partners. He has a Bachelors in Economics from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. John is a current board member for the United Way Fox Cities and volunteers at the Alta Resources Center for Entrepreneurship at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

“I look forward to joining the ThedaCare Board of Trustees,” said Beré. “I believe in the mission to improve the health of the communities. We are fortunate to have a health system in in our region that delivers comprehensive care. Patients don’t need to go far to get the kind of care they need and deserve.”

Kim Underhill currently serves as Group President of Kimberly-Clark North America. Underhill is responsible for the company’s nearly $8 billion North American Personal Care and Consumer Tissue businesses. Since joining Kimberly-Clark in 1988, she has held a variety of roles in research & engineering, supply chain, and marketing, including serving as president of Kimberly-Clark Professional and president of Kimberly-Clark’s consumer business in Europe.

In addition to serving on the ThedaCare Board of Trustees, Underhill sits on the board of directors for Foot Locker Inc., the Network for Executive Women and FMI – The Food Industry Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and a master’s degree in engineering management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

“ThedaCare, like Kimberly-Clark, has a legacy in this community,” said Underhill. “We know it takes more than a health system to achieve better health for all those living in Northeast and Central Wisconsin. As a member of the ThedaCare Board of Trustees, I will continue to develop those partnerships that support the vision and passion for a strong, healthy community.”
