The ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value is pleased to welcome to Appleton Patrick Conway, MD, MSc, Chief Medical Officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Director of the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality.

On April 18-19, Dr. Conway will take part in a day-and-a-half CEO Site Visit hosted by the Center. The visit will include a tour of ThedaCare, as well as meetings with key leaders to see firsthand the work being done to achieve better health outcomes at a lower cost.

“We’ve heard from so many healthcare CEOs about the value of this program, and we’re excited to share that experience with Dr. Conway,” said ThedaCare Center CEO John Toussaint, MD. “CMS is an important partner in healthcare improvement. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate the results made possible at ThedaCare through its improvement system and new approaches to care delivery, like the Collaborative Care model for inpatient care.”

Leaders at the ThedaCare Center understand the challenges of today’s current healthcare industry and seek to drive continuous improvement by helping leaders adopt lean principles and a culture of transformation.

As Chief Medical Officer at CMS, Dr. Conway’s work has a similar focus on quality measurement, quality improvement, research and evaluation. In addition, CMS’ Innovation Center is developing payment and service models to trial new ways to deliver healthcare.

“We’re moving toward a common goal for the future of the industry, and we look forward to deepening that conversation during Dr. Conway’s visit,” said Dr. Toussaint.
