Thanking Sponsors and the Community for Continued Support

APPLETON, Wis. – Nearly six months into the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ThedaCare continues to prepare and respond to the needs of the community, keeping our patients and families safe and healthy, now and always.

Team members are committed to the continued prevention, testing and treatment of patients infected with COVID-19. Preparing for and managing a wide range of health conditions, including infections disease, is part of what we do every day, providing all patients the level of expertise they deserve.

“Like many of our peers in the non-profit sector, we continue to make difficult decisions regarding our fundraising events,” said Courtney Weiland, CFRE, Vice President of Philanthropy with the ThedaCare Family of Foundations. “With this commitment at the heart of our work and the ever-evolving nature of the virus, the ThedaCare Family of Foundations, along with the support of our lead sponsor, The Boldt Company, have made the difficult decision to cancel our High Flyin’ Golf Outing this year.”

The event was scheduled for September 14, 2020. The High Flyin’ Golf Outing has a rich history in the community as it began in 1978 as a golf and tennis outing with another local health system. Now fully coordinated by the ThedaCare Family of Foundations, each year, the outing raises money to support a different ThedaCare program that provides services to patients and families. This year’s golf outing was designated to support areas of Cancer Care, including: The High Hopes Salon, Survivorship Day events and more.

“While we are disappointed to cancel the event, the generosity of our community during this time continues to shine,” said Weiland.  “Knowing the positive impact of community support, The Boldt Company has committed to their leadership support despite the cancellation, setting the stage for other sponsors to maintain their support, too. We are grateful to the partners who joined The Boldt Company in giving generously to support our Cancer Care services.”
