ThedaCare has named Courtney Weiland the new vice president of philanthropy. She oversees the ThedaCare Family of Foundations and volunteer services at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.

Weiland joins ThedaCare from the national YMCA office in Chicago where she was senior director-financial development resource specialist. During her 13 years with the YMCA, she developed strategic plans with regional YMCA branches that included execution of comprehensive capital campaign efforts; helped local and regional YMCAs build their fundraising infrastructure and plans; and developed team members to work together with leaders and volunteers on a shared vision for philanthropy. A native of Wisconsin, Weiland is a graduate of Northwestern University and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive.

James Matheson, ThedaCare senior vice president of strategy and marketing, said Weiland will play a vital role at ThedaCare because philanthropy supports several strategic projects.

“Courtney’s skills and leadership will play an essential role in advancing our Family of Foundations and their fundraising capabilities so we can fulfill our mission of making our local communities healthier,” he said. “She will also provide executive leadership to volunteer services in Appleton and Neenah as the needs of our organization and volunteers evolve.”
