We Empower People To Be More Independent In Their Own Lives

When Becky Cox took a health career explorer class in high school, she was immediately drawn to physical therapy. “I love to exercise and I really like the idea of being able to help people make their lives better, so it was a perfect fit for me.”

When Becky Cox took a health career explorer class in high school, she was immediately drawn to physical therapy. “I love to exercise and I really like the idea of being able to help people make their lives better, so it was a perfect fit for me.”

Today, Becky is helping patients regain their independence with ThedaCare Orthopedic Care at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Appleton. “I love the ability to change people’s lives every single day,” she said. “From small things, like standing to brushing their teeth or playing with a grandchild, to bigger things like getting back to a more active lifestyle, it’s just a special feeling to know that we make a difference in their lives.”

Becky has been working with ThedaCare for seven years, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. “Our focus is to do what’s best for the patient,” she continued. “That’s very important to me. But it’s also important for me to continue to grow in my career, and ThedaCare makes it easy to help me be my best so I can do my best for our patients.”

She did her clinicals at ThedaCare and was offered a position with the company upon graduation. She started in acute care and outpatient neuro, and is now working in orthopedics. “There is so much opportunity to grow with this company,” said Becky She is now clinical lead for the Fox Cities locations.

Originally from Two Rivers, Becky enjoys all the perks of being in Appleton. “It’s big enough to take advantage of museums, the arts, coffee shops and theatre; and small enough to take advantage of the great outdoors. It’s the best of both worlds.”
