ThedaCare Welcomes Hospitalist Physician

Mayank Arora, MD, a hospitalist physician, has joined ThedaCare and will serve at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center with a specialty in internal medicine.

Dr. Arora earned his bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (MBBS) from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health and Science Center at San Antonio and completed a research fellowship in Pulmonology through Baylor College of Medicine and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. Dr. Arora comes to ThedaCare after working at Aurora Medical Group and running a private practice. He belongs to the American College of Physician Executives and the American College of Physicians.

A practical and empathetic provider, Dr. Arora says it brings him great satisfaction to see an acutely ill patient leave the hospital in better condition. He enjoys photography and computer programming in his time away from work.

Theda Clark Medical Center is a 166-bed acute care hospital founded in 1909. In addition to general medical and surgical care, specialized services include a birth center, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, including a regional neonatal intensive care unit serving eight counties. Theda Clark is the region’s only American College of Surgeons Verified Level II Trauma Center, which includes ThedaStar Air Medical. Theda Clark also offers comprehensive neuroscience care and the Theda Clark Stroke Center was the first stroke center in Northeast Wisconsin to be certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The Bariatric Program at Theda Clark, along with Midwest Bariatric Solutions and its surgeons, have jointly received two Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence designations by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. The Theda Clark ThedaCare Surgery Center operates in Oshkosh.

Appleton Medical Center (AMC) is a 160-bed acute care hospital that opened in 1958. In addition to general medical and surgical care, services include the first and most advanced cardiac care program to be established north of Madison and Milwaukee more than 30 years ago. Other specialized services include a fully staffed emergency department, birthing services, the Groth Surgery Center, and the Martha Siekeman Cancer Center and ThedaCare Cancer Care, which includes radiation oncology, CyberKnife®, TomoTherapy™ and stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery. Appleton Medical Center is an accredited Chest Pain Center by the national Society of Chest Pain Centers.
