Karly relocated from South Dakota to join ThedaCare – and she’s so glad she did!
When Karly graduated from college in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, she went online to find her first job as a neurodiagnostic technologist. She had one major objective: “I wanted to work for a company that truly cares about patients,” Karly recalled. “ThedaCare seemed like a perfect fit. And I’m so happy I joined ThedaCare because they do everything they can to help their patients.”
Since joining the team in 2016, Karly enjoys the variety in her day. “Unlike other organizations that limit you to one or two modalities, ThedaCare gives us the opportunity to continually learn new skills and become proficient in multiple modalities,” she continued. “On a typical day, I might do electroencephalograms (EEGs) or electromyograms (EMGs). Then I might be called to the operating room to monitor nerves along the spinal cord. Every day is different – and I love every minute.”
Karly also enjoys being part of a great team. “The people I work with are terrific. We work well together and I know they care about me. I especially appreciate learning from the physicians who are so willing to share their knowledge. For people who might be thinking about joining ThedaCare, I believe our lab is the best place to grow your skills. There are so many options that allow you to focus on exactly what you want. I love the flexibility.”
When she’s not helping patients, Karly enjoys kayaking, paddleboarding and hiking in High Cliff Park.
