Hospitalist Joins ThedaCare

ThedaCare welcomes Eric Winkel, DO, a physician providing hospital care. Dr. Winkel will specialize in internal medicine at Appleton Medical Center.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Dr. Winkel switched paths and pursued his medical degree at Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minnesota where he received a Resident Teaching Award. Dr. Winkel is a two-time recipient of the Frederick Hecker Scholarship. He has co-authored multiple medical publications and served as a research assistant and tutor at Midwestern University.

Outside of work, Dr. Winkel enjoys spending time with his three children. He also likes to keep active through exercise.
